ROSE SCHOLARSHIP

First off, THIS is something that scared me, but I’m doing it!

I’ve been wanting to launch this scholarship for a while and am finally “financially able” to go through with it. I’m so excited!

ROSE stands for Rise Over Self & Ease. This ROSE scholarship is so important to me because I know there are so many people simply scared to do what they love, including me at times. Your own mind can set you back out of fear and judgement from others pulling you into a life of complacency. We can get caught up in just doing what’s easy and not leaping for what we really want. I want this essay requirement to be enjoyable, not stressful. I want you to write your biggest dreams for your nursing career or second career that you want. Describe what you would do by rising over yourself and ease.

This is for all my minority nursing students who may need a little extra help. I AM NOT requiring GPAs!! I don’t feel it is necessary to judge someone’s need because of GPA. You might need money for food to help you study better, money for a light bill to help you study better, money for a book to aid in better grades, etc. This scholarship will be a check to YOU, not your school for whatever It is that will aid in your success through nursing school.

This will also be random. I’m basically picking names out of a hat y’all. I do not want to have to decipher between need. Everyone is equally deserving, so it will be a random draw.
